Editorial policy and corrections

How pages are researched, labeled, updated, corrected, and kept separate from advertising.

Authorship without personal promotion

Pages are published under the organization-level byline "Dental Cost Estimate Editorial Team." The site does not publish a personal name, biography, photo, license number, or testimonial. That byline identifies responsibility for maintaining the page; it does not imply that a named dentist reviewed your situation or that a clinician-patient relationship exists.

Source hierarchy

For procedure explanations, the preferred sources are public materials from recognized dental organizations, government health agencies, academic institutions, and specialty organizations. For insurance definitions, the preferred sources are government glossaries, regulator materials, dental-benefit documents, and the American Dental Association's insurance resources. Commercial price pages, office advertisements, search snippets, and automated summaries are not treated as proof of a clinical or insurance claim.

Each cost guide separates two ideas that are easy to confuse: independent sources support the explanation of the procedure and benefit terms, while the site's dollar figures are explicitly labeled as rounded editorial planning ranges. A clinical source is never presented as though it endorsed a price.

What "content checked" means

The date near a byline means the page's links, terminology, internal calculator figures, and major caveats were checked for consistency. It is not a claim that a named clinician examined a patient or approved a treatment recommendation. Pages that discuss prices and benefit mechanics avoid diagnosing conditions or telling a reader which treatment to choose.

Automated tools

Software-assisted tools may be used for drafting, calculations, formatting, link checks, or quality assurance. They are not accepted as evidence. Claims that remain on a published page must be supportable by the page's cited source, the transparent estimator logic, or clearly labeled editorial assumptions.

Corrections

Corrections can be sent to dentalcostestimate@gmail.com. A useful correction identifies the page, the exact statement, and a reliable source. Confirmed factual errors are corrected promptly; material changes update the content-checked date. Disagreement with a planning range may lead to a range review, but no single office quote is treated as a national benchmark.

Advertising independence

The site is intended to be supported by Google AdSense. Advertising does not determine which procedures are covered, the amount of a range, the order of recommendations, or the result of the calculator. The site does not sell preferred placement to dental offices or insurers. An ad is not an endorsement, and editorial pages do not promise outcomes for an advertiser.

Safety boundaries

Urgent symptoms, trauma, swelling, uncontrolled bleeding, fever, or difficulty breathing require professional evaluation; a cost page is not triage. The site does not recommend delaying care because of an estimate. Readers are directed to their dentist, insurer, plan documents, and emergency services as appropriate.
